Court-Ordered Evaluations
These evaluations may be requested for: your current personal or professional goals, when a defendant tries to represent themselves, when competency is in question, or when a defendant claims insanity as a defense. Often initiated by the court to gain more information about the mental health of an individual who has filed a lawsuit or has been accused of a crime.
During legal proceedings, custody disputes and other scenarios, a mental health professional is often called in to evaluate and comment on the mental health of parties involved. Our company has provided such evaluations – we have earned a reputation for providing thorough, non-partial services that are often required during legal proceedings.
Court-ordered psychological evaluations and testing are typically only performed by a licensed psychologist. Our activities are regulated by state statutes and licensing boards.
These evaluations aim to provide information about an individual's mental state to be used in decision-making processes in legal proceedings. With an evaluation the court may be able to determine if a case should continue or if the litigant is fit to proceed with legal action.
Juvenile courts will often order evaluations of minors accused of crimes to determine the best course of action for the child's rehabilitation.
